America is going through some dark days right now -- true. But
America has never just been a plot of land; it's always been
something more. It's always been a spirit -- and a spirit can't be
killed. Perhaps it's time to focus more on selling the dream of
America, and less on talking up the doom. Even with all the threats
to freedoms, there is much to admire and love about this country.
If someone were to ask you, 'what's so great about America,
anyway?' -- would you have an answer at the ready? You should be
able to rattle off 10, 20, 30 or more things without even thinking.
If you can't, then perhaps it's time to refocus and think less on
the doom and more on the dream. Major Scott Huesing, USMC retired,
agrees, and his endeavor, Save the Brave, advances just that notion
-- despite the fact it's a campaign aimed at drawing awareness to
veterans' suicides.
